Vonnegut

Yesterday I finished reading "The Sirens of Titan." I have to say that Vonnegut is easily my favorite fiction writer. If you've read any of his novels, you know that he dabbles in the absurd... This book is no different, it strikes a hillarious balance of absurd black comedy and philsophical/sociological balance. If you haven't picked up any of his stuff, do so immediately. I've read "Cat's Cradle" at least three times.

Any of the following are amusing:

Cat's Cradle
Sirens of Titan
Thank You Mr. Rosewater

I have yet to read Slaugterhouse Five, or Breakfast of Champions...

Bio

Craving a good read? Pick up the John Adam's biography authored by David McCullough. It won the pullitzer, so it's obviously well written. It contextualizes the revolutionary era unlike anything else I've experienced, and inspires the prevailing noble ideals of the day. Not to mention, HBO just turned the biography into an acclaimed mini-series.

Simple Pleasures

I was having a conversation recently about pet peeves earlier and it sparked the question; what are those simple pleasures I really enjoy?

There are a few really interesting things that I came up with that which I find to be extraordinarily satisfying. One I keep coming back to is the joy it brings me when I possess a fresh highlighter. The satisfaction it brings me gliding across the page unimpeded is almost laughable... but when it begins to dwindle in its effectiveness it irks me to no end. For me it seems this is one of the very few actions that can traverse the spectrum from pleasure to annoyance so swiftly..

I'll be trying to thing of others as I continue to write a term paper on genocide, and I'd be interested to see what you guys find enjoyable or frustrating as well. I will also post my law term paper on here, which I am proud to say I scored a 99% on.

what a loa

Today I cracked my eyes open at 11am after a night of very shallow, adderall hindered sleep. I proceeded to sit around in my blandly colored room dreading my responsibilities. I then failed to make it to class because of the oddly nice weather, and instead shot hoops in the sun. After this stressfilled afternoon I rewarded myself with a perfectly cooked burger topped with bacon, and slathered in Blue Cheese dressing along with an ice cold glass of RC Cola.

However I did manage to accomplish something. We mixed down a new track and posted it on:

Weekend Warrior

Now more than ever you must make the most of your time whether it’s business, fun or both. You only live once as they say. This weekend I endured a variety of battles that all began on "The New Friday" otherwise known as Thursday. View the comments section to read the story...
